Who’s behind the project?

Simplon’s products stand out due to their uniqueness, innovative approach and high quality. Whether it’s mountain bikes, E-MTBs, trekking bikes or racing bikes – the team of tinkerers, athletes and engineers at Simplon’s manufacture in Hard at Lake Constance stands for finest bike quality. Every single product that leaves the Simplon workshop is a small masterpiece. Their bikes “born & raised in Austria” are popular with cyclists all over the world and have earned the company a reputation as a premium manufacturer.

The challenge

Every bike manufactured by Simplon is unique. Cycling fans in Austria and abroad love the high-performance bikes and value the company’s outstanding craftsmanship. Our mission was to convey the brand’s high quality online, with the help of an adequate tonality and design. As part of a complete website relaunch, we created all web copy in German as well as English, providing high-quality, SEO-optimised texts to go with the high-quality bikes. As a second step, we provided Simplon with a holistic online strategy across all channels, devised in a number of workshops. 

The main challenge was to come up with new content for all online outlets – from Simplon’s magazine to their social media profiles on Facebook and Instagram. Our goal: to create a professional brand appearance, enhance the brand’s image and provide readers with information, solutions and an added value – all while presenting Simplon as a traditional, authentic and down-to-earth brand.

The special nature of the project

The punkt & komma team are true experts when it comes to digital copywriting for the tourism, recreation and experience industry. But how about the bike industry? Our client’s question was: Would we be able to do this as well? And, of course, our answer was: Certainly! Consequently, the most bike-loving and knowledgeable copywriters of our team were assigned to create exciting content that met the target audience’s needs and expectations. Our mission: to address technology buffs as well as professional road racers and leisure bikers.

In the social media realm, our strategy paid off as well, quickly resulting in higher engagement numbers. What’s more, we used Facebook as a kind of market research tool to identify the community’s interests and consequently provide them with highly relevant content. In addition, we turned Simplon’s Instagram profile into a stylish bike catalogue.

Another noteworthy aspect of this project was the intricate teamwork involved. In close collaboration with the design and project teams, we made sure that our web copy for the Simplon website came to life in the most impressive way. What’s more, the SEO team helped us boost our copy’s performance with Google, while the campaign team supported our social media activities. And, of course, the Simplon team was involved throughout the entire process!
